I was in a car accident on Saturday. A minor one. No one was hurt.
The shock hit yesterday evening. Slow-motion replay over and over.
The car in front at the round about pulled away and then changed her mind.
Too late by then.
It was my fault we were out. I wanted to go and look at stationery. I don't need any stationery. I just wanted. Like I always do. Curse of the only child.
I can see that she's stopped moving. I say, "that car isn't moving" but I'm not quick enough.
Why didn't I just say "STOP"? The verbosity present in every area of my life now spiders in to emergency situations, encouraging them rather than working to prevent them.
At work its quite amusing. They call me Scrabble. People have called into the office while out on the road to check they used the right word or spelling.
Yet I couldn't find one simple little "Stop".
No one was badly hurt. Just twinges. There are two damaged bumpers and an insurance excess to be paid, which is painful enough.
And its all my fault. For being brattish and wordy.

Oh how awful - I know even the most minor bump can leave you shaken and re-living it in your head over and over again. *Definitely* not your fault, though - if anyone's, it sounds like the fault of the woman who stopped, so please don't blame yourself! (Easier said than done, I know - it's so tempting when something like that happens to keep thinking about the "if onlys"..)

Don't be too hard on yourself duck, have a brandy and listen to some jazz.

Amber - Thank you and you're right, I know. Its just so hard not to feel like if I'd just shut up and stayed at home it could all have been avoided.
DHG - Thank you, I might just do that. Although I only got 4 hours sleep last night so I'll maybe wait until a bit later for the booze. If I start now I'll be sparko!

Hey, Scrabble is a much better nickname than BJ (meant to stand for Beetlejuice but mistaken for Blowjob). I'd take Scrabble anyday!

Hey Scrabble. It's not your fault! It's the universe. Shit happens. And it often leaves us speechless! Now go get that whiskey!

I hope you are OK from car incident, Listen I truly apologize for my cruel remarks I made. It was uncalled for and please accept my apologies.

So glad you're ok! x

Dena - Its not a bad nickname. Someone I knew called his daughter Bethany Jane without thinking of the consequences...poor girl.
Ellie - I know, I just feel like I could have done more. We're okay, which is really all that matters.
HockeyBay - Thank you, I'm doing okay. We'll just put it down to a misunderstanding, I appreciate your apology.
Katherine - Thank you, me too! x

Glad it was just a minor bump, but sorry you have to deal with the fallout. Also, I love to buy stationery. I can spend a fortune in paper stores.

HIF - Thank you, me too! Unfortunately, it looks like the car is a write off because it was quite old and there was more damage than we expected.
I didn't end up getting the stationery I wanted. It was a desk tidy but I sort of feel like its cursed now - I'm not meant to have it I don't think!

We're getting more and more roundabouts here. I don't trust them, well, I don't trust the drivers negotiating through them. Glad you're ok, car wrecks can be traumatic.

Umm...if you weren't driving, it's not your responsibility. You're the passenger, the driver is the one who is in control of the car and who has to make sure the road is clear of hazards.
So it's not your fault. Not even a little bit.
Or have I just missed the point somewhere?
All that's happened is you were in a prang. No one died or was seriously injured.
If you want to feel guilty, why not do something really awful? Like sleep with your bosses wife? That way it would be fun and worth the guilt.
Stationery is a staple, every good woman NEEDS new pens and beautiful paper.
Many hugs my darling.

Bob - I think thats the problem, the OTHER drivers not knowing what they're doing. Congrats again on becoming a grandfather, thats wonderful news!
Roses - Thank you for the hugs, I'm doing okay now. The guilt has pretty much gone, so there won't be any need for drastic action! ;)

Hoping that the car is back in action by now.
Great to meet yesterday and trust all well on the journey back!

Nice to meet you last night Beth, hope our paths cross again and I'm serious about working with you on some men's products type stuff but you'll have to take the lead as you are the expert!

i like scrabble...after the wreck, we could start calling you tiger woods :P

Rashbre - It was good to meet you too, the journey back was uneventful (I'm not complaining!) and the car is all fixed now. We had a bit of a scare where it looked like it'd be a write off, but she's parked outside now, all better.
DHG - It was nice to meet you too, thank you for putting on a great show. I'll have a little thing about how I can incorporate some mens skincare bits on the beauty blog. Maybe I'll make it a new year project!
Blush - Yep, all I need is a wife to cheat on and I'm all set:)x
