Since Christmas, with one thing or another, my diet has hardly been spectacular. The week of my birthday I existed pretty much solely on Marks & Spencer's chocolate birthday cake.
Not long thereafter, my Grandmother was taken seriously ill and any thoughts of sensible eating went out the window. I ate what I wanted and as much as I wanted.
Since the funeral and to an extent, the return of normality, I have been trying to eat better. To lose the half a stone I've put on in the last couple of months.
Let me be clear, I am not good at diets. Not at all. I can usually manage Slim Fast for a couple of weeks, but it has to be done when there is literally no other temptation around.
At work a couple of weeks ago I cracked a joke that the ultimate weight loss tool was "a good dose of food poisoning". A quick and dirty way to lose a few pounds.
You know where this is going don't you?
I've had a cold for the last week, but yesterday I struggled through most of my day at work feeling extremely nauseous. By 3pm, the dizziness had become too much for me and I went home.
Cue vomiting. Off and on for about 4 hours. I couldn't even keep water down.
I woke up every half hour last night with a headache increasing in intensity but also with a fear of taking any painkillers in case it kicked everything off again.
I felt like crap. I don't feel much better now, although I've managed to eat some porridge and take some of those fizzy paracetamol so the headache is gone.
Now, I just feel tired (I slept for 4 hours straight this morning) and achy. I mean muscles that I didn't even know I had, let alone muscles I would consider would be integral to the puking process are absolutely killing me. My knees and thighs also hurt, but that's possibly more to do with having not been out of bed for almost 24 hours than it is anything else.
So kids, all I can say is be extremely careful what you joke about. The universe is cruel sometimes.

Get well soon.
I know that unexpected muscle ache from being *ahem* unwell. Sometimes its best to just rest or sleep.

@rashbre Thats pretty much all I did on Thursday. I'm finally back to normal now though, no muscle aches and normal scoffing has resumed.

Oh honey. How awful for you.
Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Roses - A week later and I'm fine, thank you! I was back at work on Monday and pretty much good as new. Unfortunately this weekend I have locked some joints in my upper back/neck and so it really is from one physical blah-ness to another.
